Hailed as ‘the new face of classical guitar’ after winning every major international guitar competition within the space of just a few months, Thibaut Garcia has had the critics reaching for new superlatives, as well as comparisons with the great guitarists of the past.
Thibaut Garcia, the Franco-Spanish guitarist, was born in 1994 in Toulouse, where he began learning the guitar at the age of seven. Garcia studied at the Paris Conservatoire and has won several competitions including 2015 Guitar Foundation of America, 2014 José Tomas at Petrer, Spain, and 2013 International Competition of Seville. He was appointed a BBC New Generation Artist in 2017 and has performed at Wigmore Hall, Vienna’s Konzerthaus, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Hall.
