Carole Cerasi – Saxon Clavichord by Christian Gotthelf Hoffmann, 1784
The recital will include Haydn’s extraordinary Variations in f minor, brought to new light by the quiet intensity of the clavichord, as well as works by CPE Bach, one of the greatest advocates of the instrument, and Müthel, Bach’s last pupil.
Carole Cerasi has established herself at the very front rank of early keyboard players and recording artists in her field.
Her CDs have won many major awards including a Gramophone Award (Elisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, recorded on the Ruckers in the Cobbe Collection at Hatchlands).
A highly respected teacher, Carole is professor of harpsichord and fortepiano at the Royal Academy of Music, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, The Royal Conservatoire The Hague, and the Yehudi Menuhin School. She is also in demand as a member of international jury panels.
