Anneke Scott and Geoffrey Govier highlight works written by musicians in Beethoven’s circle in the early 19th century and likely to have been inspired by his famous Sonata Op.17. 

Anneke Scott is a leading exponent of historical horn playing, with a repertoire of music and instruments from late 17th century to the present day. She is principal horn of period instrument ensembles including Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique and the English Baroque Soloists.

Geoffrey Govier is one of the leading British exponents of the early piano. He is Professor of Fortepiano at RCM and has served on the jury of a number of international fortepiano competitions.
