Clara Schumann – Trio in G minor, Op. 17
Robert Schumann – Trio No.1 in D minor, Op. 63
Laura Roberts will perform music of Robert and Clara Schumann from the early years of their marriage, when they studied chamber music together; this led them both to write piano trios for Clara to perform at the chamber music society she had formed in Dresden. Laura is a professor of piano at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She will be playing the grand piano by Erard, Paris, 1845. Performed upon by Thalberg.
