Probably from the Court of King Charles II

The virginals was the most common keyboard instrument during the 17th century, a period when English composers were leaders in the development of keyboard technique and composition. This instrument is one of about 24 English virginals surviving, and was probably made for King Charles II, and maintained by Henry Purcell.
